These Student Terms of Service (“Student Terms”) supplement our general Terms of Service and apply specifically to students who use Quizva’s educational technology platform, website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”) in Canada. By accessing or using the Services as a student, you (and your parent/guardian, if you are under the age of majority) agree to be bound by these Student Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these Student Terms, please discontinue use of our Services.

1. Who These Terms Apply To

These Student Terms apply to all students who use Quizva’s Services, whether you access our platform independently or through a school, teacher, or parent/guardian. They also apply to parents or guardians who manage or oversee a student’s account, and to educators who facilitate student use of our Services.

2. Eligibility and Parental Consent

You must be a student enrolled in an educational institution or otherwise authorized to use Quizva’s Services for educational purposes. If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory, you may only use the Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for ensuring that your child’s use of the Services complies with these Student Terms and all applicable laws.

3. Account Registration and Security

Account Creation: You may be required to create an account to access certain features of the Services. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary.
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Do not share your password with anyone, including other students. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify your teacher, school, or Quizva support immediately.
Parental/School Management: If your account is created or managed by a school, teacher, or parent/guardian, they may have access to your account information and activity for educational and administrative purposes.

4. Acceptable Use of the Services

You agree to use the Services only for lawful, educational purposes and in accordance with these Student Terms, your school’s policies, and all applicable laws. You must not:

Use the Services for any purpose other than schoolwork, personal learning, or educational activities as permitted by your school or teacher.
Share your account credentials or allow anyone else to access your account.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts, data, or the platform’s systems.
Cheat, plagiarize, or engage in any dishonest conduct in connection with assessments, quizzes, or assignments.
Disrupt, interfere with, or negatively impact the experience of other users, including by sending spam, harassing, or bullying others.
Upload, post, or share any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
Use the Services to collect or store personal information about others without authorization.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise tamper with the platform’s code or security features.

5. Academic Integrity and Student Conduct

Quizva is committed to supporting academic integrity and a positive learning environment. You are expected to:

Complete your own work and assessments honestly, without unauthorized assistance.
Follow your school’s academic policies and codes of conduct.
Respect the intellectual property rights of others and properly attribute sources when required.
Report any suspected cheating, plagiarism, or misconduct to your teacher or school administrator.

Quizva may provide tools to help teachers and schools detect suspicious activity or academic dishonesty. Violations of academic integrity may result in disciplinary action by your school and/or suspension or termination of your Quizva account.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Quizva collects, uses, and protects your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. Key points include:

Data Collection: We collect information such as your name, email address, grade level, school, learning activity, usage data, communications, and device information to provide and improve our Services.
Use of Data: Your data is used to enable learning features, assessments, personalized feedback, and progress tracking, and to support teachers and schools in monitoring educational outcomes.
Access by Teachers and Schools: Your teacher and school may access your progress, activity, and account information to support your learning and comply with educational requirements.

7. Parental and School Involvement

If your account is managed by a school, teacher, or parent/guardian, they may:

Access and manage your account information and activity.
Assign quizzes, assessments, and learning activities.
Monitor your progress and provide feedback.
Communicate with you through the platform.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to review these Student Terms and our Privacy Policy with their children and to contact us with any questions or concerns.

8. Content Ownership and Intellectual Property

Student Content: You retain ownership of any original content you create and submit through the Services (such as written responses, projects, or creative work), subject to the rights granted to Quizva and your school for educational purposes.
License to Quizva: By submitting content, you grant Quizva a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Services, supporting educational activities, and complying with legal obligations.
Platform Content: All content provided by Quizva, including quizzes, questions, graphics, software, and documentation, is owned by Quizva or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may use such content only as permitted for educational purposes.

9. Platform Features and Tools

As a student, you may have access to various features and tools, including:

Taking quizzes and assessments assigned by your teacher or school.
Viewing your progress, scores, and feedback.
Participating in learning activities, discussions, or collaborative projects (where enabled).
Accessing educational resources and materials provided by your teacher or Quizva.
Communicating with your teacher or classmates through platform messaging (if permitted).

Some features may be restricted or disabled by your school or teacher to comply with educational policies or to protect student safety.

10. Safety, Security, and Reporting Concerns

Quizva is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment. You are expected to:

Report any inappropriate content, bullying, harassment, or safety concerns to your teacher, school administrator, or Quizva support.
Not share personal information (such as your address, phone number, or other sensitive data) with other users unless authorized by your school or parent/guardian.
Use the platform’s communication tools responsibly and respectfully.

Quizva may monitor activity on the platform to detect and prevent violations of these Student Terms, protect user safety, and comply with legal obligations.

11. Suspension and Termination of Accounts

Quizva reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account, or restrict your access to certain features, if you violate these Student Terms, our general Terms of Service, or applicable laws. Your school or teacher may also suspend or terminate your account in accordance with their policies.

If your account is terminated, you may lose access to your progress, content, and other data associated with your account. In some cases, your school or parent/guardian may request a copy of your data or request its deletion, subject to legal requirements.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in these Student Terms, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.

If your account is managed by a school or teacher, data retention may also be governed by the policies of your educational institution.

You or your parent/guardian may request deletion of your account and personal information by contacting your school, teacher, or Quizva support, subject to legal and contractual obligations.

13. International Data Transfers

Quizva is based in Canada, and student data is primarily stored and processed in Canada. If we transfer data outside of Canada (for example, to a trusted service provider), we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with Canadian privacy laws.

14. Third-Party Services and Links

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or resources. These Student Terms apply only to Quizva’s Services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or terms of third-party sites. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

15. Changes to These Student Terms

We may update these Student Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and, where appropriate, by other means (such as email or in-platform notifications). The “Last updated” date at the top of these Terms indicates when they were most recently revised.

Your continued use of our Services after any changes to these Student Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
